Learning the technique
People come to lessons from all walks of life and range in age from early teens to their 90's. They come to learn the Technique for a wide variety of reasons, from improving their general well-being to dealing with specific issues such as back pain, stress and tension, RSI and general upper limb related concerns, to migraines or breathing issues, postural concerns etc.
Lessons in the Technique last around 45 minutes each, and involve a practical exploration of how the pupil/client is using themselves, both in general and in specific activities where they might be experiencing pain, difficulty or impediment of some kind.
The teacher helps the pupil to master the tools required to apply the Technique in a way that is straightforward and relevant to their everyday lives and activities.
Gentle, non-intrusive use of hands-on guidance is used as part of the teaching process, complimented by verbal and observational interactions. The teaching process is light, lively and engaging, often with lots of laughter as the learning and self-discovery unfolds.
